I worked in both a high end kitchen and fast food. I have stolen food and been a garbage boy in both. I dreamt of being a chef and looked up to great cooks. I even made friends with a great chef. I suffered under great poverty. One thing I don’t get about ratatouille, how does linguine have such a great apartment view? That’s gotta be expensive. I always cooked for myself and made my favorite thing, savoring the food and pretending I was a great chef. I needed those jobs and felt more rat than human. But the second I started bartending and asking to learn to cook I got fired for being “depressed”. I always worked had and outperformed many of my coworkers. But I had no connections to the management so I got the axe and so did the chef. Linguini and I both love animals and wear converse and I love that silly movie. I even had a motor scooter until it was stolen…

TL;DR: I’m very disappointed in the Marvel fandom and I’ve slowly watched it get stripped away of all dignity. I’m part of the MCU fandom. From what I’ve seen, the fandom has become, not-toxic exactly, but more fucking annoying and hypocritical. The constant leaks, people going “it’s woke WHSOWNFOWNFOWHFOWHDUWHDPWMDJEIWPRIDJWPSJW”, liking something and then immediately shitting on it some time later, and people saying the Infinity Saga is perfect despite the fact that there’s several movies that people aren’t huge fans of, such as Age of Ultron, criticising how characters were done like Hulk, but now praise it like it’s fucking perfect and act like nothings wrong. And when I see decisions and creative choices on the same level of some of the choices from the Infinity Saga, I see the exact same criticisms aimed at Marvel despite me personally believing some of the creative choices feeling on the same level to the Infinity Saga. And I feel like there’s a lot of unnecessary hate towards some MCU actors. Allow me to give you some examples of all of these points - UA-cam channels constantly putting out leaks and rumours and getting expectations way too high, contributing to people having too high expectations of Marvel movies and leading to criticisms. - Any UA-cam channel that uses “woke” as a reason for something being bad - People hating things like Secret Invasion or Multiverse of Madness because “it’s not what they wanted”, and then liking Spider Man: No Way Home for giving them what they wanted, ONLY FOR SEVERAL OF THEM TO NOT LIKE IT AFTER A WHILE. DO YOU WANT CHANGE OR DO YOU NOT WANT CHANGE, MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MINDS. - People hating on projects like Iron Man 3, Thor the Dark World and Age of Ultron because they made creative decisions that they didn’t like, but now that we’re in a post-Endgame world, everyone is going “damn I miss peak MCU, those were the days”- Flip off, like you weren’t critiquing some of those movies to death back when they came out or as time went on, why the sudden drastic change 💀? - I’ve seen people hate the choices to have Yellowjacket from Ant Man 1 become M.O.D.O.K or the gender bending of Taskmaster in Black Widow, despite me liking both characters and seeing that they feel similar to their comic book counterparts, or will at least grow into them as they progress throughout the MCU, and me even talking to people saying they liked those versions of the characters, yet they still get a bunch of hate despite how maybe the CGI looked or some slight changes in their appearance or gender or backstory but will still help them grow into a version of their comic counterparts. But the choice to have Hela be the brother of Thor and Loki and not Loki’s daughter despite still acting somewhat like her comic counterpart, they go YIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE - Also the CGI nutjobs. I call them that because literally whenever I see people criticise their CGI, it’s always the same shots in the same movies and completely ignoring all the other scenes yet still have the balls to call their CGI bad. It just feels like after Endgame, the criticisms some movies faced back in the Infinity Saga suddenly boosted up to 11 now that Endgame is done, and I’ve seen people love projects to suddenly turning on them, it feels like you either love one or hate one now. If you like a certain project or character, “you’re disrespecting the original” or “you’re a MCU Hyper Fan Boi” or “You’re contributing to the Woke Agenda”, and if you dislike something, “you’re disrespecting the MCU”, “you’re a hater”, “you’re racist or sexist”. I don’t care if you like or dislike something, that isn’t my point. But if you keep bouncing back and forth between liking and disliking something like night and day, going “the MCU is back” and “the MCU is dead” like a pendulum, you’re gonna make yourselves look like jokes. And Marvels plans and directions and responses and structures are now so all over the place, to having brilliant ideas but the people behind those projects not taking full advantage of them and the fans being indecisive idiots, then you’re gonna lead to sudden changes in plan that will just keep changing and going all over the place because neither you or the fans know what to do with something. I feel like Kevin Feige had a great structure and plan, or at least one that would’ve intrigued people. I know we don’t know exactly what his plan is but with the characters and themes they were going with and hints towards storylines, I feel like we can form a decent idea of what it could’ve looked like. Introduce new teams, do different stories from the comics like World War Hulk or House of M or Kang Dynasty, some new shows that could easily be one off fun adventures with the charm of the MCU heroes and actors, organise them out so they don’t complicate the fans, let time to develop the characters, find new ways to do storylines, prequels, alternate universe stories to allow for different creative visions, that stuff. Personally I would’ve been down with that. But the people behind those projects didn’t plan it out well, and the fans are now indecisive and annoying now. It has really exposed and boosted up a bad side of the fandom. And now we’re left in a state where I don’t know what to even think or do now, and the fans who will like the one thing but then dislike a second later will just make Marvel not know what to do and panic. And I blame the creatives at Marvel for not planning it out properly, and i blame the fans for, in my opinion, not even helping the situation with the two-faced opinions and over-hyping and crap. If I see a company change plans on a whim, and if I see a fanbase always changing their opinions just like that (and I have seen people with two faced opinions like that online), then I don’t know what else to say other than: “We’re screwed.” And it sucks because I still like each creative choice Marvel makes, regardless of their plan originally or moving forward, I always like to see the pros in each creative choice and rolling with it. But that doesn’t change the fact that the plan is all over the place or structured differently to how it was before, and the fans will continue to be indecisive and shut down every idea like “THAT WONT WORK BLFJSBEKWNDOWNFOW” And what sucks is that as a kid, and even today, I see Marvel, and superheroes in general, as a way of uniting people. Either through representation in gender, race, morals, backgrounds, sexuality, religion, able-bodied or disabled, etc, as well as through different entertainment formats like different genres, creative visions, tons, and expressing one’s creative viewpoint, or even just being idols to children and adults alike. But after what I’ve seen how Marvel has been ran, and how much of a joke the fans are now, I can’t help but feel as if I’ve gotten a bit bitter now towards them due to how so many of the fans find new ways to drive people away from liking Marvel, and that I feel like Marvel has lost that charm, and the same applies to other superhero companies as well. If you, 1 person, like a thing that’s popular, you’re bound to get at least a maximum of 99 others who will either hate it or make a joke out of it, which could make others view it in a negative light or worse. Anyways, I’m gonna go outside and touch some grass and make my own superheroes to cope with the idiocy, have a nice day 🫠👍

The storyline was so tight in S1 without feeling rushed. There were so many symbols that actually carried through, and theres a clear arc. S2 rushed its plot, and the closest we got to symbols was like... the soup in the first 3 episodes that gets forgotten immediately after. As someone who was legitimately obsessed with S1, I really tried to like S2, and there are a few good moments (the hand thing! the cursed suit! the queer dance party that didnt last long enough!) but overall I stifled my disappointment in the fandom because we wanted that season 3. S1 will still always be in my heart, and Ed and Stede will always be my OTP, but im still disappointed. Ive watched S1 enough to have Rocky Horror style audience participation lines for it but I only watched the last 3 episodes of S2 once. I tried to watch through it again and gave up halfway through. That says something. If someone that into OFMD cant do it, thats a problem.

8:28 do you wanna know something I was thinking one afternoon how much do Binman get for a wage. I looked it up. $21 per hour. I told a friend, “I have a back up job now if things don’t work out ”. To which my mate replied. “What type of job” I said “binman”. To which my mate re-enacted the Ahahhaahha are you serious J.J Jamison giff. I replied, “yes” and I just felt, just felt the wave of concern that came over my mate at that moment. My mate then spent the next few hours telling me about other jobs that had better wages than a Binman. I realised there that because I mainly watched american entertainment I had gotten a custom to $15-18 per hour wage being the norm. So when I saw a $21 per hour wage I thought that that was a big amount of money. But it wasn’t and by the end of me and my mates conversation, he had told me other positions that had better wages than a binman like a waiter or a postman. You see in a country that actually gave a single care about its people they have good wages. In America they do not care and give people bad wages and so you now you can make comparisons that poor people are like rats. No sorry no that’s only the case in America a third world oops mean second world oops mean developing nation. P.s can’t say 💩 or 🤣 (spell duck with an f in emoji and you know what I mean)

season 2 absolutely BUTCHERED ed and stede's characters. They were constantly fighting, acting like morons and not giving a fuck about anybody but eachother, which could sound romantic if you completly ignore their characters. Stede becoming this violent man who just wants to get back to the sea, not caring about the well being of his crew and trying to coarse Ed into coming with him. And Ed ALSO not caring for the crew and giving a stupid 'im sorry for trying to kill all of you in a murder-suicide my baaaad' announcement once he gets back with not a single drop of honesty and trying to coarse Stede back to land. And that is what baffles me, during the finale it was clear that they wanted different things in life, Stede wants to be a pirate at sea and Ed wants to retire and live in the land, but still... they stay together, Stede has to renounce his dream in order to make Ed happy and to me that it very.. toxic? maybe they were trying to send the message of 'you have to give up somethings in order to achive others' but is this the life Stede really wants? i guess we will never know. btw i'm still so bitter about Izzy dying omg that was so unnecesary. You're telling me that the two must insuffrable, toxic and devolving characters this season got their 'happy ending' and all the actually well written characters who went through hell and back just to break free from his chains gets Death? and a crappy funeral?. One of the absolute worse endings for a show i've ever seen. Which is heartbreaking because i adored season 1, amazing storytelling and character development, but season 2 just makes me feel anger when i think about the series

ngl the fact the Lorax kinda shows that one person doesn't realize they're doing the wrong thing for the.. generally incorrect thing, and then another knows theyre doing the wrong thing for the right reason is quite silly. Funny thing about regulations. A scheme politicians often try to pull is passing regulations that look good on the surface, but in practice are ineffective at restricing dangerous behavior of large corporations. The actual effects are a cost that an established business can deal with easily, but a new business cannot afford, effectively making it impossible to challenge the system from the inside.

i absolutely agreed with all of the comments you made in this video, but one of my main problems with season 2 (and by extension, even season 1) was the handling of disabled characters. there was always a an undercurrent of ableism in s1 that often comes from ablebodied people writing any disabled characters, but i felt the ignoring of ed as a disabled character (his knee brace is right there) felt extremely weird as a disabled person. however, i thought that was simply a vibe i got from being hypersensitive to these things. however, season 2 came in and decided to have an entire disabled plot line and then handle it poorly. it really did feel like izzy being disabled came simply as a way to make him more sympathetic and as a plot device to kickstart his redemption arc instead of being an actual consideration of disabled people's experiences there were also scenes of casual ableism that were gut-wrenching to see as a disabled person with both the destroying of his prosthetic as well as using his prosthetic as a grave marker. these were treated as humorous gaffs instead of the truly mortifying experiences that they are. having your mobility disrespected feels awful as a disabled person. i also disliked how his internalized ableism was dealt with, especially as it was written and played out by an abled crew. it felt off-putting and again, like it really didn't care all that much about telling an authentic disabled storyline. using lived disabled experiences as simply a plot device was extremely disheartening to see from a show that heralds itself as a very diverse and inclusive show (which i would say it does a decent job at minus disabled people, which sort of makes it fail at being good at inclusivity, but i digress). i also didn't love how jim's gender identity was handled in s1. there was always an undercurrent of misunderstanding leaning on transphobia (what with them being outed twice- i hated that even if it was played off as humorous. it's not, and it came off that jim was obviously horrified) that made me feel uncomfortable. i just know i'd hate being on a ship with a bunch of cis men after being outed and not knowing how they'd respond, and then they respond amicably, but still... extremely off. i love jim and that's why some of they're writing felt so... weird to me as a nonbinary person. i did love their storyline with oluwande, though, so when season 2 decided to drop that and stomp it into the ground... that wasn't fun. lastly, (thought i'd only be talking about disability but i guess not) i really disliked how this show handled abuse, specifically when it came to ed, izzy, and the crew. it's set up that ed is a survivor of abuse, even going so far to kill his abuser (which is honestly great for a storyline like his). but setting all this up to have him turn into a relentless abuser with little to no reference beforehand was quite off-putting, especially as it was handled with no more complexity than him just being a bad guy. implying an abuse victim will always become the abuser with ed's storyline felt awful to watch. i am always interested to see how a storyline featuring the cycle of abuse plays out, but that one was not good. especially as it sort of just let ed go and absolved once stede came back and didn't address much. it just felt... weird. and that reminds me that i didn't like the portrayal of mental illness and how that played into ed's storyline. it had been really interestingly set up in s1 and then they kind of threw it to the wind and let people come to the conclusion that he was just mentally ill and that's why he was being so shit. like, no maybe. anyway, long rant over. i very much enjoyed season 1 but truly dislike season 2, which was extremely upsetting to see. i am so thankful you decided to make this video to highlight your own problems with the show.

To be fair Ghost Gusteau is a product of Remmy's imagination so maybe when he tells him not to steal it's actually an internal conflict

SPOILERS FOR THE GATSBY MUSICAL AT THE AMERICAN REPERTORY THEATRE I've commented a few times already (i am extremely hyperfixated on the two gatsby musicals rn) BUT Nick is explicitly gay in the musical adaptation of Gatsby at the American Repertory Theatre (with music by Florence Welch!!) And they keep Mr McKee in as well (i've been told that they fuck LOL)

I'm late to this one, but it hits home very hard on all points, during both parts. I really appreciate you making this even though it's so difficult. I find myself in the same boat a lot of the time, unable to move past all the fumbled arcs and messages. So, for those like me, here's some recommendations. Sci-fi with a seemingly all-conquering empire, mystery, tight plot, great characters, and found family: Babylon 5, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Hard sci-fi with incredible world building and discussions around very human emotions and flaws: Scavengers Reign (this one needs a lot of love on Netflix to be picked up for a second season!) Sci-fi that tackles discovering who you are and what you want to put into the world, and the existentialism that comes with that: The Murderbot Diaries, Monk and Robot (these are both book series) and in case you're not convinced, all of these have made me cry.

I think of Nick as Bisexual and think the unreliable narrator but adds to it: he eats hot chip and lies ((I'm joking but seriously I'm team Nick is Bi with a preference for men))
